A Line Cook is a person who is in charge of preparing the food items in the pantry, fry and/or stations or other areas in the kitchen. He/she is also responsible for cleaning and maintaining the station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills. A Line Cook is working as a team member in a dynamic workplace, and to follow all the safety procedures, and must have a high threshold for heat in a kitchen environment.

Major Areas of Responsibility


  • Completes steps of service to ensure utmost guest satisfaction
  • Follows recipe guidelines
  • Knows menu items specific to position
  • All product cooked and served according to recipe specifications and food safety/sanitation practices
  • Adheres to location appearance guidelines
  • Acts with a sense of urgency and provides friendly, efficient service to teammates and guests


  • Maintains work area
  • Employs good safety and sanitation practices
  • Practices proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment
  • Adheres to Levy Company guidelines as stated in team member training manual and employee handbook
  • Thoroughly completes all station set-up and breakdown responsibilities


  • Displays a positive attitude toward teammates and managers
  • Helps fellow team members whenever necessary
  • Always on time and ready to perform all required duties


  • 1-3 years of experience, has a solid skill base and must be competent in all stations.
  • English reading, writing and math skills required
  • Able to communicate effectively with managers, guests and teammates by speaking and comprehending English
  • Frequently reaches, lifts, stoops, bends and cleans to maintain work area
  • Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to; slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains
  • Walks and stands during entire shift
